Use a preset as a starting point for content, design, and animation.
Before you start
Apply a preset to a new ticker or preserve the current ticker with a full ticker export first. You need permission to edit tickers. Open TickerPress → Tickers, then Edit the ticker. For public output, the ticker must be published, enabled, and contain enabled content that resolves to at least one item.
Steps
- Open the ticker editor and select Choose a preset, above the preview.
- In Presets, review the available cards. Choose Apply preset on the desired card.
- Read and confirm the replacement prompt: the current content, design, and animation settings will be replaced.
- Replace sample content, inspect links and media, and check the preview. Latest posts configures a newest-first WordPress posts source with five items.
- Review the preserved placement and display conditions, then Publish or Update. Check the public page.
Expected result
The chosen preset supplies editable content and appearance. Placement and display-condition settings remain unchanged.
Troubleshooting and limits
A Pro badge or upgrade action means the preset needs Pro content. An Unavailable action can indicate a missing dependency such as WooCommerce. Export preset JSON is for authoring preset-safe definitions; it omits runtime IDs and site-specific fields. It is not the full ticker backup/import workflow. Applying a preset has no separate “undo preset” button; preserve important work first.
