Limit automatic placement to the pages where your message is relevant.
Before you start
Enable automatic placement in Placement. These rules apply to automatic output only. You need permission to edit tickers. Open TickerPress → Tickers, then Edit the ticker. For public output, the ticker must be published, enabled, and contain enabled content that resolves to at least one item.
Steps
- In Placement → Display conditions, select Add condition.
- Set Rule to Include. For sitewide output, set Display location to Everywhere. For a smaller audience, choose General pages and select the appropriate page types, or Specific pages and select content.
- To omit a page from an included area, add another condition with Rule → Exclude and select the page or page type.
- For taxonomy targeting, use Specific pages → Specific terms → Add term rule. Choose Taxonomy, Terms, and Match: Term archive targets the archive page; Content assigned to term targets individual content with that term.
- Select Update. Visit an included page, an excluded page, and a page outside the rules.
Expected result
At least one inclusion must match. Any matching exclusion overrides all inclusions.
Troubleshooting and limits
An exclusion-only configuration does not mean “everywhere except”; add Include → Everywhere first for that pattern. Home page and Blog / posts page can be different pages. Removing every rule disables automatic placement. Shortcodes, blocks, and Elementor embeds ignore these rules. Page caches may need refreshing before testing changes.
