Limit automatic output to a date range and selected screen-width groups.
Before you start
Activate compatible Free and Pro, enable automatic placement, and add matching display conditions. Confirm the WordPress site timezone before entering dates. You need permission to edit tickers. Open TickerPress → Tickers, then Edit the ticker. For public output, the ticker must be published, enabled, and contain enabled content that resolves to at least one item.
Steps
- Open Placement → Schedule and set Schedule type → Date range.
- Enter Start date and time and End date and time as needed. A blank start or end leaves that boundary open. Use an end later than the start.
- Under Device targeting → Show on, select Desktop, Tablet, and/or Mobile. Leave all three selected for all widths.
- Select Update. Load a matching public page inside and outside the date range, accounting for page caching.
- Check widths of 600px and below, 601–1024px, and above 1024px. Confirm that the permitted groups display as intended.
Expected result
Automatic placement requires matching page rules and schedule eligibility. Browser-width targeting hides automatic bars outside the selected groups.
Troubleshooting and limits
These rules do not limit shortcodes, blocks, or Elementor widgets. Device groups describe viewport width, not hardware detection. Schedule eligibility is evaluated when the page is generated; an already-open page is not a reliable deadline enforcement mechanism. Live refresh updates sourced content, not placement eligibility. Avoid page caches serving an old scheduled result.
